How to Unlock It

Before Capacitor can drop, you need to complete 5 challenges in the Summit. These can be any difficulty and are designed to be achievable even for newer agents. Once completed, Capacitor drops from targeted assault rifle loot in Countdown, Summit, or any activity with AR loot. Exotic Caches also have a chance to award it.

Capacitance, Explained

Capacitance provides two distinct bonuses. First, you gain +5% weapon damage for each Skill Tier you have invested in, meaning a full Skill Tier 6 build grants a 30% weapon damage boost. Second, each time you shoot an enemy, you build stacks that grant +2.5% skill damage per stack, up to a maximum. This dual scaling makes Capacitor uniquely powerful in hybrid setups where you want both gunplay and skills to hit hard.

Build Tips

Capacitor excels in hybrid builds that split between Skill Tier and red core attributes. The Electric Glide exotic chest piece synergizes perfectly by boosting skill efficiency while you maintain weapon damage. Combine with Memento backpack for additional scaling across all three stat categories. For full setups see tested Division 2 builds.

FAQ

How much weapon damage does Capacitance give per Skill Tier?
Capacitance grants +5% weapon damage for each Skill Tier you have. At Skill Tier 6, that is a 30% total weapon damage bonus.
Can Capacitor be recalibrated?
Capacitor can have one attribute recalibrated, but its talent is fixed. The skill damage stacking makes it a top-tier choice for hybrid builds.
