How to Unlock It
Oxpecker was initially available as a guaranteed reward at Rank 69 on the Year 6 Season 3 track. After the season ended, it entered the general loot pool and can now drop from any targeted SMG source. Run Countdown with SMG targeting, clear Summit floors with SMG directives, or open Exotic Caches for a chance to obtain it.
Symbiosis, Explained
Symbiosis provides passive healing to all allies within 20 meters when you kill an enemy. Each kill grants +4% repair for 10 seconds, and the effect stacks up to 10 times. At maximum stacks, you are providing significant passive healing to your entire group just by getting kills. This makes Oxpecker uniquely valuable in group compositions where the healer also wants to contribute damage.
Build Tips
Oxpecker works best in support or crowd control builds that stay near teammates while dealing damage. A healing hybrid build that splits between skill tier and red cores lets you contribute both damage and sustained healing through Symbiosis. Pair it with a Tank or CC build to create a self-sustaining group that doesn't rely on a dedicated healer. For full setups see tested Division 2 builds.
