Retaliation Activity
Retaliation triggers when a faction is sufficiently provoked: it marks a named zone and seizes every control point inside it. Retake them all before time runs out. Side Maneuver challenges buy extra time, Kill Squads raise the stakes, and an agitation meter per faction, pushed up by kills, missions and captures, or instantly by a daily project, decides who retaliates next. The mode stayed in the game permanently after the season.
Exotic Crafting
Retaliation materials (Hyena spice, Outcast canisters and equivalents) combine with Exotic Components to craft exotics, with better blueprint odds on higher difficulties. Full Retaliation clears can also yield raid and Dark Zone exotic blueprints.

Modifiers
The Divide and Conquer global modifier ties combat power to map control, bonuses shift with whichever faction holds each named zone, backed by faction-flavored active modifiers that level up through use.
