The Division 2 / Y8S1 Update
Division 2 Y8S1 Mid-Season Patch Guide
The mid-season update landed on May 12, 2026 (patch 2.26 on consoles) with a new vendor, a classified assignment, two global events and a long community-voted fix list. Our plain-language summary below: full texts live on Ubisoft's news hub.
Escalation Requisition Vendor
The headline addition is a token vendor at the Base of Operations selling three Prototype caches with no purchase limit (level 40): an always-available random cache, plus daily rotating gear and weapon caches whose drops roll better on average. Check the current cache in Escalation Tier 10.
Capitol Anomaly Assignment
A new classified assignment opened at the former Capitol Globe newspaper HQ for level 30+ agents (included in the Season Pass), built around exploration, ECHOs, audio logs, backpack trophies and named drops.
Events
| Assault (May 12–19) | Damage ramps against nearby enemies up to +200%. Reward: Piggy Mask. |
|---|---|
| Ambush (May 19–26) | Standing still builds up to +200% damage; moving drains it. Reward: Trench Mask. |
| Vanguard Overdrive (May 15–19) | Multiplier week: +50% reload and swap speed, +40% hazard protection, +20% movement, +15% armor on kill. |
| Season Pass XP x5 (May 19–26) | Boosted XP from priority objectives, seasonal journey, weekly projects, scouts and open world. |
Notable Fixes
The patch focused on community-reported bugs: account-wide sharing for Prototype cores, tiers and tokens; the Richter & Kaiser mod-strip bug; Oxpecker shield damage; reconfigure blueprints missing at Inaya; locked Legacy Manhunt climax entries; stuck Crossroads comms; and Danny Weaver's Rise Up cache purchases. Players affected by the missing Core Strength targeted loot received three Prototype Core Caches by logging in before May 26.
What This Means for Builds
Prototype acquisition got its first real economy, plan cache spending in the build planner and farm the rotation in today's targeted loot.
