Broken Rain Matchmaking: What Went Wrong

The Queue

20 minutes waiting in the Broken Rain matchmaking queue on a Saturday afternoon. Crossplay is on, but nobody shows up. When flatdriver_PL finally joins, he says nothing, no hi, no ready check, just runs straight into the mission.

Lester & Dwayne

Despite the silent teammate, Lester and Dwayne go down. It's messy, everyone dies at least once, but it's a clear. flatdriver_PL swaps to a healing set for Dwayne, showing he's not completely lost.

Iris: The Breaking Point

The Negotiator's Dilemma Iris cheese has been patched. Now you have to do the actual EMP turbine mechanic. With a random who won't communicate, this is where it falls apart. hybrid (the healer) keeps the hive in the control room trying to heal from range instead of giving it to the player who needs it. First attempt is one EMP window away from success. Second attempt, hybrid rage quits.

The Verdict

20 minutes in queue for the privilege of maybe getting a good teammate. Instead you get a silent coin flip. This is exactly why people give up on matchmaking for certain content.
