Diablo 4 / World Boss

Avarice, the Gold Cursed

Avarice is a Diablo 4 World Boss built around greed: a treasure-hoarding monstrosity that fights with a massive golden chest.

Avarice rewards the players who commit to the kill rather than the players who play it safe. Because the World Boss window is only 15 minutes, the fight tends to resolve on damage checks and burst windows, and she is one of the bosses where a group that arrives late usually leaves empty-handed.

When Avarice Spawns

World Bosses spawn on a 3.5-hour cycle, which is 210 minutes, and stay in the world for 15 minutes. Blizzard broadcasts a message to all players when the boss is 15 minutes away, and the boss icon appears on your map so you can teleport straight to the spawn point.

The Diablo 4 World Boss timer lists the next twelve spawn times in UTC and in your own time zone, and can send you a browser alert before the window opens. It deliberately does not name the boss for each spawn, because Blizzard does not publish the rotation.

How to Prepare

FAQ

When does Avarice, the Gold Cursed spawn?
World Bosses spawn on a 3.5-hour cycle, and Avarice appears somewhere in that rotation. Blizzard does not publish the rotation order, so this page does not guess which spawn is next - the [World Boss timer](/diablo-4/world-boss-timer/) lists the next twelve spawn times.
What does Avarice, the Gold Cursed drop?
Legendary items, summoning materials, experience and Gilding Crests, plus a guaranteed reward cache once per day. In Torment III and above the reward pool includes Ancestral items.
How long do I have to kill it?
Fifteen minutes from the moment it spawns. Blizzard broadcasts a message to all players 15 minutes ahead, and the boss icon appears on your map so you can teleport straight to it.
